SALVIAMO IL COMPLESSO ARCHITETTONICO DI A. MAZZONI A S. M. NOVELLA A FIRENZE

Thursday, May 6 was held in Rome, the Conference of shuttle services to make the connection, about 1.3 km long, between the new High Speed \u200b\u200bRailway Station, designed by Norman Foster, and the train station Santa Maria Novella in Florence.

the meeting it was decided to demolish a building, flanked to the thermal power station was also built by Angiolo Mazzoni in the 30s, to conduct an "intermediate stop" the connection between the stations.

The work of Mazzoni, unique, aroused the enthusiastic appreciation of Marinetti founded the Futurist movement in 2009 was celebrated on the centenary of the publication of the Manifesto.

Despite all the complex Mazzoni is bound under the Code of Cultural Heritage in 2004, the Superintendency has removed the constraints on them and has favored the building design choice that includes the scrapping .

The substantive issue is that instead of this building Mazzoni will place the necessary structures to make a stop connection with the possible creation of industrial roofs and anything else necessary to disfigure the image and integrity of the work of Mazzoni One of the main buildings of the twentieth century in Florence.

A "stopover" in an area with no parking problems of road congestion and poor pedestrian mobility and thus a project that is a logical function and also as a possible connection to the Fortezza da Basso.

The curiosity is that on the same day is May 6 consegnavano le “CHIAVI DELLA CITTÀ” all’architetto portoghese ALVARO SIZA nel Salone de’ Dugento di Palazzo Vecchio, organizzato dalla nostra associazione.

Thursday, May 6th was held in the Rome a conference for the connection , about 1.3 km long, between the new High Speed Railway, designed by Norman Foster, and the train station Santa Maria Novella in Florence.

At the meeting it was decided the demolition of a structure beside the thermoelectric central, built by Angiolo Mazzoni in the 30`s, in order to have a stop between stations.

The work of Mazzoni, unique in the genre, aroused the enthusiastic appreciation of Marinetti, founder of the Futurist Movement and in 2009 was celebrated on the occasion of the centenary of the publication of the Manifesto.

Despite all the complex Mazzoni is bound under the Code of Cultural Heritage of 2004, the Superintendency has removed the tie to this building and has favoured the choice of design that includes the demolition and scrapping of such structure.

The core issue is that instead of this precious Mazzoni building they will probably place the structures needed to make a stop connection with the likely creation of industrial sheds and anything else necessary to sully the image and integrity of the work of the twentieth century Mazzoarchitetture in Florence, one of the first and most important.

An "intermediate stop" in an area withno parking' congested roads and poor pedestrian mobility and thus a project that is void of a logical function even if as a possible link to the Fortezza da Basso.

Curiosity is that the same day on May 6th "Key to the City" is handed to world renowned Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza in Salone de 'Dugento diPalazzo Vecchio, organized by our association A as Architecture. While one hand bestow honors the other strikes, with a pick, one of the major architectureof the twentieth-century .

This is yet another affront to a historically rich city but unable to plan its contemporaneity, a tangible sign of a partial view of not only the city's development and respect for architecture that"is not Renaissance", but also the deterioration of a" modus operandi "that now involves the country at all levels.

I ask everyone to sign this petition PARTICIPATE with your name, city of residence and email, for clarity of procedure, widespread concern at enhancing the identity of the city and preserve its architectural heritage of any age, style and author beginning with the complex Angiolo Mazzoni in Florence.
